Support for Conference Attendance Challenges (Child or Elder Care or Unemployment):

Stipends up to $500 will be granted to students, postdocs, early career scientists, or other SMASH community members who require financial assistance in order to be able to attend the SMASH conferences.

I need to bring my kids

Planned conference sessions and social events may not be appropriate for children. Please respect your colleagues’ interests by allowing them to attend activities without disruption and without concern for children’s safety. Strollers, child backpack carriers or similar devices are permitted in the oral and poster sessions, and parents/caregivers are asked to keep in mind safety and well-being of children and conference attendees. If your child is a teenager or young adult, please purchase accompanying person event tickets.

Lactation / Nursing Room / Breast Milk Storage

One designated nursing space is available in Hotel Alpenrock. Additionally, in room refrigerators are guaranteed to maintain a temperature down to XXXX degrees. If you need assistance, please ask anyone on the SMASH organizing committee or the conference chairs.

Single-Use / Family / Gender Neutral Bathrooms

Hotel Alpenrock has several single-use bathrooms.
