SMASH 2008 will be held at the
La Fonda Hotel in
Santa Fe, New Mexico from September 7th through
September 10th.
Santa Fe is located 60 miles northeast of Albuquerque in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Santa Fe is
one of the two UNESCO Cities of Craft and Folk Art. Be sure to
make some time to visit the local museums and numerous art
galleries, or simply stroll around town and do some shopping. For
the more adventurous type there are lots of outdoor activities,
including hiking and trail riding. The weather should be mild,
with average highs in the 70's (21-26°C) and lows in the 40's
(5-9°C). |

SMASH is pleased
to offer a substantial discount to student attendees. Students must provide proof of their status by
faxing in a copy of their student ID to Robert Espina at 484-865-9404, see
the registration information page for more details. SMASH
continues to offer a limited number of stipends for students or
graduate who currently hold an

The format of the conference will be the same as previous SMASH
meetings. There will be Users' Meetings on the Sunday preceding
the conference. Conference check-in will be on Sunday evening,
followed by a reception, dinner, and mixer. The conference program
itself will start on Monday morning and run through to Wednesday noon.
There will be several workshops offered as well as an interesting line up
of sessions. Details will be posted soon on the Conference Program
page.
