SMASH 2010 will be held at the Conference Center of the Doubletree Hotel in Portland Oregon from September 26th through September 29th.  Portland is located in the Pacific Northwest of the United states.  Coastal mountains and the Cascade mountain range surround Portland offering many scenic and recreation opportunities. Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge lie 90 minutes to the east of Portland while the Oregon Coast is just 90 minutes to the west. The city itself provides a wealth of dining and entertaining tourist activities. In close proximity lie fantastic vineyards and micro-breweries.  There is plenty to see and do during the late summer such as dining and shopping, or for the more adventurous, hiking, fishing, biking, mountain climbing, and many other activities. Please see the link above for more information on the city.

SMASH is offering a substantial discount to student attendees.  Students must provide proof of their status by emailing in a copy of their student ID to SMASH Registration.    See the registration information page for more details.

SMASH is pleased to announce that this year the SMASH NMR meeting is held in parallel with CoSMoS. The two organizing committees are working closely with each other to provide maximum interaction between the two small molecule conferences while still retaining their own individual subject matter. This will be done by ensuring that on Monday and Tuesday the poster sessions, breaks, dinner and post dinner activities are aligned. In addition, Wednesday's program will have complete overlap and will provide topics of mutual interest. The organizing committee is very enthusiastic about providing a SMASH meeting that is focused on small molecule NMR and contains the option to engage in scientific discussions and lectures (Wednesday) with the CoSMoS counterpart. This parallel event between SMASH and CoSMoS promises to be a premiere small molecule conference.

SMASH continues to offer a limited number of stipends for students or graduates who currently hold an academic post-doctorate position.  For details and to apply please see the SMASH Stipends page.

The format of the conference will be similar to previous SMASH meetings.  There will be Users' Meetings on the Sunday preceding the conference.  Conference check-in will be on Sunday evening, followed by a reception, dinner, and mixer.  The conference program itself will start on Monday morning and will conclude late Wednesday afternoon.  There will be several workshops offered as well as an interesting line up of sessions.  Details are can be found on the Conference Program page.
